Building storage that saves harvests

Since 2019, Brooks Agricultural Solutions has planned, won and delivered cold rooms, packhouses and solar-powered storage for farming communities in many countries. Founder Elena Brooks built it one project at a time, and it has grown with every one.

Our story

Why we exist

Farmers work hard to grow food, and then too much of it is lost before anyone can eat it. The harvest is picked, but there is nowhere cool to keep it, or no way to get it to market in time.

Brooks Agricultural Solutions exists to fix that. We build cold rooms, packhouses and collection points, and we power them with solar energy wherever there is no reliable electricity.

We do not usually work for small farmers directly, because they rarely can afford a cold room. We work for the NGOs, development organisations and companies that want those farmers to succeed, and for a few large farms. They give us the contract. We win it, find the right crews, and stay on site until the job is done and handed over.

Growth

How we have grown

A steady climb, through good years and hard ones. Each year we took on more, hired more and learned more.

  1. 2019

    One founder, one idea

Elena Brooks starts the company to solve one problem: good produce lost for want of somewhere cool to keep it. The first job is a single cold-room plan for a small group of growers.

  2. 2020

Tested by COVID-19, and stronger for it

The pandemic closed markets and slowed supply chains, and planned projects were delayed. We adapted: we helped set up emergency cold storage so surplus farm produce could reach food banks and community kitchens. The business took a hit, we stayed resilient, and we came out with a stronger network of builders and partners.

  3. 2021

    Beyond the United States

Our first projects outside the country, working side by side with local crews who know the land.

  4. 2022

    More than a one-woman show

The first full-time hires join. Training the community's own people becomes part of every project.

  5. 2023

    Solar-powered cold rooms

Solar-assisted cold storage becomes a core service, and the first projects reach remote villages with no reliable power.

  6. 2024

New regions, same way of working

Projects now span the United States, Mexico, Asia, Europe and Africa, always delivered by a hands-on team.

  7. 2025

    Bigger contracts

Larger packhouse and cooperative contracts, with the same personal attention to every site.

  8. 2026

    Still growing

We are not there yet, and that is the point. Every year we take on a little more, hire a little more and learn a lot more.

Led by Elena Brooks

Elena is the founder and CEO. She wins the contracts, leads the planning and stays close to every build.

She started the company in 2019 and has grown it year by year, with a team she trusts and builders and engineers she brings in project by project.

A cold room is only as good as the people who run it, so we plan for them from the first day.

The people

Meet our team

Behind every project is a small team of coordinators, planners and trainers, working with the builders and specialists we bring in on each job.

What we actually do

In plain words: an NGO, a company or a large farm hires us to put up a working cold room, packhouse or storage building, and we deliver it.

1

We win the contract

NGOs, development organisations, companies and large farms hire us, often to build storage for farming communities.

2

We plan and price it

The right size, the right cooling, the right power, and a budget the client can follow.

3

We bring the crew

We source and manage the workforce: builders, refrigeration and solar engineers, suppliers.

4

We build and hand over

We build it, train the people who will run it, write the procedures and hand it over to the community or the farm.

Our commitments

Why people trust us

We are small enough to care about every site, and organised enough to deliver it. This is what we promise.

  • Clear scoping before work begins

We agree what a project includes, and what it does not, before anything is ordered or built.

  • Qualified, licensed partners

Where a job needs licensed or specialist contractors, we work with people who hold the appropriate qualifications.

  • Honest reporting

We say what we can and cannot do, and report plainly on progress, cost and problems as they arise.

  • Handover with training

We do not consider a facility finished until the people who will run it have been trained and have the procedures.

What we hold to

  • Say plainly what we can and cannot do.
  • Plan before building.
  • Use qualified crews, and be clear about who does what.
  • Leave behind people who can run what we built.
  • Respect local knowledge and local builders.
  • Keep growing, one good project at a time.

Have a project in mind?

We would be glad to hear about it. A few lines about the crop and the farm is a good start.
